A dressing table stool can be a very small piece of furniture that changes how you use your room. You can either buy it as a set or just change up what you already have. You may have a dressing table that’s sentimental or it might even be an heirloom. You can really go in a totally different design direction just by changing out the chair that goes with it. Here are a few of the popular types.
1. Upholstered Dressing Table Stools
When you go with a cream dressing table stool you have several options. You could go with an upholstered version. Depending on the shape this can seem very modern or very vintage. This could even be an ottoman with a back on it. This is going to be a very inexpensive way to shop. It could be a square if you want a contemporary look. If you want more of a vintage kind of design style then look for smaller iron stools. Just make sure that whatever you choose is comfortable enough to sit on for as long as you need to use it.

2. Glam It Up
If your room has a Hollywood glam look to it then consider going for a silver piece. Since a dressing table stool is so small you can really experiment with a lot of different finishes that would be too expensive or difficult to accomplish on larger pieces of furniture. This could even include silver leaf. You might be able to find or add in a metallic fabric covered ottoman.
3. Sets
Another thing to consider when choosing dressing table stools and chairs is to really figure out how you to change up the set. For instance if you have a white wicker table then you might want to go with a sturdier chair. This could even be a very modern plexiglass design. This is going to be one of the more expensive kinds of chairs that you can get but it adds that modern edge into your space.
4. Bench Styles
If you want a dressing table stool with storage then look for a bench. Ottomans can also have a lift top. This can be an area where you store a lot of your makeup. You can also just keep your perfume bottles out in plain sight. Place them on a silver tray. You can even transfer some of your perfume into vintage bottles. This is going to give it a much more cohesive kind of feeling.
5. Vintage Styles
If you want a white dressing table stool then look for a metal version that you can spray paint. You can change the cushion to a country floral fabric. This is going to look very shabby chic. Another option would be to just find a version that has tons of beautiful wire work on it. You can complete the feminine look with a pink cushion.
6. Wooden Tones
If you want to go with a high end kind of piece then consider getting a dressing table stool that features a beautiful rich wood tone. In this case, you can have a high to medium back or no back at all. The stool in this case is going to have a Queen Anne style of furniture with curved legs. The other really great thing about this is that then you can experiment with very formal fabrics such as a faux satin. Just make sure that it’s easy to clean.
