Whether you are working in an office, furnishing an office, or just trying to decorate a home office it’s really important to pay attention to your office blinds. This is one of the most integral elements of the entire room. It might not seem like a huge decision at first, but it’s really going to determine how much cleaning the space needs as well as how often you have to replace your window treatments. It’s also really important to consider the light in the space is just because a home office can be so small. In some companies finally getting a window instead of just a cubicle is a big accomplishment so make sure that your office blinds really celebrate it properly.

Carefully assess the needs of your space. This determines privacy. The building that you are renting might have a few rules about the window treatments that you can put up. A lot of times they just like to have a very cohesive look from the outside so this may mean that you’re stuck with basic white mini blinds. This can seem a little bit cold and sterile and it’s also a pretty predictable choice. It’s also something that tends to break a lot. Depending on the building you might be able to hang up a cornice box. You could even just get a few of these made out of molding or real wood that is going to relate back to the desk. This turns the office window into more of an architectural detail and really compliments basic office architecture quite beautifully.

If you’re decorating a home office then you have a lot of different options that you can go with. A really inexpensive option is to go with bamboo blinds. If you went with roman shades made out of bamboo then this is really going to give you a totally different look than fabric curtains. It’s going to be a clean line without being too cold because it still is bringing in natural texture. Plus, these are really inexpensive. This is important because no matter what position you are in when you have multiple offices to decorate it increases the cost especially if you are decorating a space for an entire company.

Another form of blinds for offices really has absolutely nothing to do with the window. You can find a lot of freestanding screens that look like tall shutters. This allows you to partition off two separate spaces. You can hide away clutter or just make more of a separate work area for two people who are sharing the same workstation. The really great thing about this is that they are portable so you can remove it. The blind effect is really going to ensure that the light still gets into both sides of the room.
